JEWELLERY CARE GUIDELINES 

- Please handle and wear all jewellery items with care, especially plated items.  Ensure you have no allergies to metals present and always EMAIL ME to discuss if you have any allergies to metals and I will assist you to choose an appropriate design suitable for your requirements  
- STORE your jewellery out of direct sunlight, heat and away from damp, especially gemstone and clay pendants which are fragile by nature 

- Remove jewellery when playing exercising, playing sport, swimming and whilst involved in activities 

- DRESS JEWELLERY Clean dress jewellery with a soft damp cloth and allow to dry 

- SILVER Clean 925 Silver with a silver cleaning kit or take to a specialist (Jewellers) for specialist cleaning if in doubt 

- BRONZE clean with gentle soap and water or a soft cloth 

- NATURAL CLAY PENDANTS wipe with a damp cloth allow to dry, avoid damp or hot conditions, keep out of direct sunlight 

- GEMSTONES wipe with a damp cloth allow to dry  

- FABRIC CORDS Wash any cord with gentle soap and allow to dry 

- PLATED METALS do not expose plated metals to perfume, chemicals.  Plated metals will tarnish over time, this is natural wear.  To increase their lifespan ensure you do not wear daily as they are considered 'dress jewellery' only, which applies especially to any complimentary 'silver plated chain'.  It is recommended you wear 925 silver or 9ct gold on a daily basis.  Avoid any metals you may have an allergy to (contact your doctor or healthcare practitioner for advice). 
If in doubt: Patch test your item before wearing for any long period. 
Avoid wearing dress jewellery in hot temperatures or humid environments and this will cause tarnish. 
On the rare occasion skin of a certain PH may cause tarnishing, it is recommended you stop wearing any item that has fully tarnished.       ​

- place in an area where it will not fall or damage or come into contact with fabrics, delicate items, and keep out of the way of pets or children

PLEASE RESEARCH YOUR GEMSTONE BEFORE USE: It is ESSENTIAL you check specialist gemstone care online regarding safe storage and use for the gemstone you have purchased.  For example, some gemstones are toxic when wet, and some gemstones are extremely fragile.  Wiseroots cannot guarantee your gemstone under these circumstances and it is your responsibility to check 
- STORING store all gemstones out of direct sunlight, heat and away from damp/wet conditions 

- CLEANING Clean gemstones with a soft cloth, check before cleaning if your gemstone can tolerate water or damp

All sound items have a unique sound, no two items sound the same way . I cannot guarantee a 'specific sound' if you order online . Please be aware of this when you order. All items may sound a pure, sharp or flat note and may be higher or lower pitch.

Items  are not tested for specific note unless specified, and if specified that note was correct at the time of testing, which can be altered by different atmospheres

Please ask questions before you purchase and read the item description fully with all relevant information. 

CAUTION WITH SOUND ITEMS 

STORE all items away from hot, humid, damp, cold environments.  Protect durong storage and whilst in transit.  Ensure you treat items as 'fragile' as any item could damage or break with excessive use especially moving parts or components 

USE EAR PROTECTION (EAR PLUGS) WHEN USING ANY SOUND EQUIPMENT and ensure you have no conditions such as: ear or hearing illness or diseased conditions, heart conditions, do not use when pregnant.  Do not use on or near the ears or body.  Research how to use your item correctly . not suitable for use with minors or pets / animals

WINDCHIMES, FENG SHUI MIRRORS, RAINBOMAKERS & STATUES
Windchimes / Rainbow makers / BaGua Mirrors: do not place in full sunlight as they may be a fire risk/hazard. 

Avoid placing or hanging items (statues or windchimes etc) outdoors or exposing them to the elements, avoid rain, water, snow, ice, wind and all other adverse weather conditions which may cause damage, rusting, deterioration etc.  Feng shui mirrors should be used indoors only, the mirror is a lightweight version of a mirror and not a glass mirror for safety 

Avoid damp conditions for Hanging decorations and statues such as bathrooms, be aware they may deteriorate with exposure to excessive moisture, cold or heat etc

Due to a potential intimate nature of the following items (for massage purposes) they are Non returnable

CLAY ITEMS
Treat all clay items as fragile, keep away from extreme weather conditions (cold, damp or heat)

avoid contact with other objects during wear or storage to protect the paint technique and protective coating  
Do not immerse in water they are water resistant and are not 100% fully waterproof.
Not dish washer safe. Clean gently with a soft damp cloth.
Not suitable for use by children 

DURATION OF PAINT & PROTECTIVE COATING 

Your clay item has been made with the utmost care and quality control, this clay item has been hand painted with water based acrylics and varnished to create a protective coating, the longjevity of this item is subject to many factors of use such as: general use and storage of the clay item (ie: rubbing/banging of the item) and its general wear & tear, environment (weather conditions the item is exposed to), general overall care and maintenance of item etc.  you agree THERE ARE NO GUARANTEE TO THE LENGTH OF PAINT OR PROTECTIVE COATING ON ANY CLAY ITEM .  In rare circumstances, items may have to be re-painted or re-varnished again at your expense

NATURAL, WOOD AND FEATHER ITEMS
Please treat all feathers , wood and natural items with care.
All feathers and wood have been treated with a 100% natural anti-insect protection and may have residue fo Diatomaceous Earth present, thereafter it is your responsibility to ensure you keep away from any possible damage DO NOT INHALE . 
Ensure you keep all items away from children and pets.    
It is your responsibility to ensure any item is legal to send to your country of purchase before you purchase it!

ONLINE SALES
We offer refunds for returned items within 14 days of purchase. 
Where you request to return an item, please message us and we will try to offer a solution. Wiseroots is a small business and if for any reason you do need to return the item, the buyer pays return postage. Intimate items are exempt including massagers such as eggs & wands and other personal items including custom made items are non refundable or returnable 
RETURNS & EXCHANGES A refund or exchange will only be issued once the item has been physically returned back to me, please be patient with this process as some returns can take a little while.
FOR DAMAGED ITEMS
in the unfortunate event of an online purchase where the item arrives damaged:
WISEROOTS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REQUIRE THAT YOU PRODUCE TO US FULL PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE BEFORE ACCEPTING THIS RETURN, WE WILL THEN ASSESS THE DAMAGE AND HOW IT WAS DAMAGED AND GET BACK TO YOU ASAP, IF THE DAMAGE OCCURED IN TRANSIT AND IS AT NO FAULT OF THE PURCHASER THEN A REFUND WILL BE ISSUED 

There will be a returns handling fee of £5.00 that we will deduct from any refund.

At the discretion of Wiseroots, the return postage costs and/or the returns handling fee may be refunded to you if we are satisfied that the item was damaged on delivery.

POSTAGE OF YOUR ITEM
For quality control, Your postal address will be CHECKED TWICE before posting to ensure it is sent to the correct address given at time of your online purchase.  Please ensure you provide the correct postal address, as failure to do so will be at your expense.  Any items that are undelivered are at your expense so please ensure you check for delivery and if your item is being held at a Postal Office or courier service, it is your responsibility to collect your item as any redeliveries will be at your extra cost of the item delivery price for tracked mail (which may be higher than the original postage you paid)     
TRACKING​
You will be sent a message to inform you that your item has been posted, but you will not be automatically sent a tracking number.  This is to keep admin to a minimum as Cara is a Sole Trader and also works within the community. Heavy admin takes time and time is precious 

​DELAYS IN POSTING 

In RARE INSTANCES, UK and overseas airmail recorded postage can take longer than usual; this is due to over-land delays. I cannot be held responsible for any item that is delayed due to postal services either within the UK or overseas. Whilst the item is with the postal service, it is out of my control.

MISSING ITEMS Please allow up to 6 weeks for delivery, upon non delivery WISEROOTS will claim for LOST ITEMS and will require to pass on your full details to the Postal service/courier to claim including your name, address, email and other relevant details, this will also prevent fraud at your address.   It is your responsibility to check if items you purchase are legal in your country or any countries you will be posted to or you are travelling to as each country has different laws and these may be subject to change

B) wholesalers & traders that have a strict 'Fair Trade / and or / ethical policy as part of their Store Guidelines

CREATION OF ITEMS AND QUALITY CONTROL
Cara Bianca at Wiseroots hand-creates unique and individual items for you with care from 'findings' and jewellery components from selected wholesale sellers  
ALL ITEMS ARE INSPECTED BEFORE THEY ARE WRAPPED carefully and sent to you, there may be ‘natural flaws’ these are a part of the character of these hand crafted items as stated in the description.
All components to create items for sale at Wiseroots are purchased from other companies and are NOT hand made from base ingredients by Cara or Wiseroots.  All findings are liable with the person or company that created the item/componement and NOT with Cara Bianca or Wiseroots and you agree to chase up any problems with the supplier

BUYING A DRUM FOR CARA TO HENNA

CARA CAN PAINT THE FOLLOWING HIDE AND LEATHER ITEMS

• natural hide skin drums (cara cannot paint acrylic or vegan skins) 

• natural hide rattles 

• light / tan natural leather objects without a waterproof finish, such as natural leather bags, belts, shoes, hats etc 

• CARA WILL SOON BE EXPERIMENTING WITH WOOD AND FABRIC APPLICATION  

 

YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING

• INSPIRATION Cara will require the following from you:

• SIZE how big or small you would like your design 

• PLACEMENT where you would like your design to be 'to and from' 

• SYMBOLOGY what you would like represented and drawn onto your drum, please be as specific as you can and provide Cara with visual images (photos) of the components of your design ie: lotus, ankh, etc 

• EXTRA NOTES: Cara only works with symbols of light 

• PAINT TECHNIQUES all painting is freehand and may have ‘perfections within imperfections’ as this process is one of a kind and freehand drawn.  A Henna line is usually 2/3mm thick and may bleed further in rare circumstances.  Please be aware of this an factor this in to your design.  Cara can 'block colour' areas on your drum also, these areas may have patchiness which is a natural occurance with natural paints on hide   

• COLOUR is usually a lovely very dark burgundy brown colour and rarely turns out light.  There may be colour and shading differences in the painting over an items surface 

• DURATION OF STAIN designs may need reapplying after some time, like all porous surfaces designs can and may fade 

• CREATING A MORE PERMANENT DESIGN If you would like to make a painted design more permanent, you can spray the head with an artists’ matte fixative at your own risk and may affect porosity of leather or skin items 

• DYE Cara prefers to use an iodine and henna paste which turns out instantly dark, this paste is made in a water base and when dry the paste peels off (staining and reactivating also) once removed the design is pretty safe but do avoid contact with light fabrics as the design could transfer.  This method may leave a halo of colour around a design which is totally normal and varies vastly upon the item being painted.  all items are gently wiped clean with water and cloth to remove any surface excess paint.  The paint may bleed through to the reverse side on some thinner items painted ie: you may be able to see the design on the other side of a drum head where areas are more transparent on leather.  Cara can use a traditional Henna Dye upon request which will have a lighter more orangey brown stain than the darker Burgundy Golecha Dye  

• REMOVAL OF PAINT cara has to use a flat metal scraper to gently remove the dried paint from an item.  cara is not liable for any damage this may cause, especially due to prior wear if an object.  so far the dried paint has been safely removed from nearly every object apart from 2 drums which had weak spots in the skin head so please check your drum for any weak spots before you have a drum painted 

• ITEMS WITH PROTECTIVE COATINGS not suitable for highly oiled or coated items or drums as the stain may adhere patchy such as waterproofing, saddle oil etc 

• YOU AGREE TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE HENNA'ING OF YOUR ITEM AND ANY ADVERSITY IT MAY CAUSE Cara is not liable for any adverse change of an item from painting OR change of tone or sound of a drum from painting it . all painting of items it entirely at your own risk

PRICES start from £45+ upwards for designs, if you require pre-design of your drum artwork this is extra to cover design costs and postage is also extra   

£45 small improvised henna (at a festival) 

£65 large improvised henna (at a festival) 

£80+ plus postage fees for work carried out via post 

• POSTAGE FEES you agree to cover any postage fees.  Cara does not cover import / export fees, any fees incurred from shipping your drum are at your own risk and you agree to pay them . Cara is not liable for any damage of your drum when in transit, please ensure you cover your drum with insurance if posting 

 

CHECKLIST BEFORE PAINTING A DRUM 

• ensure skin is clean and free from any oils 

• check skin for any potential weak spots checking thickness and durability of the skin 

• check edges of drum for any weak spots 

• decide what and where design will go safely 

 

Caring For Your Drum

Your drum is a living being, honor its spirit with love and respect.  

 

• work ‘with’ rather than ‘on’ your drum allowing your drum to lead you, it will teach you so much 

• connect with the tone and full skin, how your drum sounds in each and every area of the head and where voice tones change or merge or amplify called the ‘sweet spots’ 

 

Adjusting a Drum skin & tone 

The natural law of skin drums is 

• WATER EXPANDS When it is cold, warm it gradually, you can tighten up a drum head by using the heat from a hair dryer about 12” from the drumhead, some people warm their drum skin near a fire but not too close.  When damp or humid protect the tone by storing your drum in wool, cotton or a custom drum bags. 

• HEAT CONSTRICTS  in hot or dry climates spray water on the drum or place a slightly damp cloth or paper towel on the drumhead before you wrap it in a towel or drum case.  If hot, cool slowly.  You can bring the tone down (loosen) by spraying water on the drumhead

Always take your time and be patient if you need to restore your drum’s tone before playing. Allow yourself time to adjust the tone with water or heat using the above methods to loosen or tighten a skin 

AFTERCARE FOR HENNA PAINTED ITEMS  

CLEANING 

clean your drum or item by rubbing gently with a dry cloth and allow to dry fully in a warm area 

condition your leather or drum skin with a natural oil, shea butter or saddle soap on the head and lacing

Protect your item - drum head by keeping it wrapped, face up, never placing anything on its skin 

STORING YOUR ITEM OR DRUM 

wrapped in a cloth or bag, facing upwards, or hang on a wall in a warm and dry place.  

• Keep your item away direct sunlight

• store away from gas, oil, fire or radiator heat sources which can dry the skin and possibly split leather or hide 

• Dont leave items in a hot place or car

• Don’t leave in damp or moldy places ​

DURATION OF STAIN

is subject to many factors such as: use, wear & tear, environment, general care and maintenance of item, original fabric/hide quality etc.  you agree THERE ARE NO GUARANTEE TO THE LENGTH OF A HENNA STAIN ON ANY ITEM .  In rare circumstances, items may have to be re-hennaed again at your expense

ITEMS AND DRUMS ARE USUALLY PAINTED WITH THE FOLLOWING STAIN

GOLECHA SKIN DYE AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS 

COLOUR: DARK BURGUNDY 

CONTAINS: HENNA AND IODINE DYES WITH NO PPD

CAN YOU REMOVE THIS PRODUCT QUICKLY? Within first day NO, after first day a better chance of removal 

IS THIS PRODUCT IN DATE? YES, WE ONLY USE FRESH SKIN DYE
INGREDIENTS:

water

henna

erythrosine red (organic iodine pigment containing 58% iodine

eucalyptus

guar gum

phenonip (oil soluble paraben based preservative)​

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS
- Allow to dry fully this will take overnight - DO NOT SMUDGE WHEN WET !

- When fully dry Peel off the top layer of skin dye very carefully avoiding remoistening or dragging the dried paint  flakes.  Use the blunt end of a teaspoon or rounded non serrated end of a butter knife, or use a credit card edge, use a tool that will not damage the surface of the area you are removing the dried paint from  

- Avoid removing paste with water (if paste comes into contact with water it will smudge out or run)  

- When all of the top dried 'henna' layer is fully removed Gently wipe the area quickly with a damp cloth or baby wipe, if the dye starts to 'halo' (smudge out) use another wipe to remove as quickly as possible.  Do this fast (do not clean with water slowly) 

- The Golecha stain will be quite dark.  Golecha skin dye will stain the top layer of an item and may fade in time.  You can set theis design on an item using the method listed above   ​

KEEP DRY OR WET PASTE AWAY FROM ANYTHING THAT MAY STAIN
